Job Brief
We are looking for a Senior QA engineer to join our team, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You will be working with a high-performing team to continuously develop new products/features.
What you’ll do
- This is a hands-on role and as a senior member of the QA team, you’ll help ensure the quality of Moneybox products, reporting into the Senior QA Lead.
- Seamlessly deliver numerous large and complex projects, acting as the sole QA on a squad, managing competing workstreams through effective prioritisation and time management.
- Promote a “quality is everyone’s responsibility” philosophy, influencing team members to prioritise collective success.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define testing and release strategies that effectively balance risk, speed, and quality.
- Run engaging, cross-functional team meetings (e.g. amigos, retrospectives, go/no-go) that promote positive outcomes and actions.
- Apply a risk-based approach to QA activities, focusing on high-value areas rather than testing for the sake of testing, leveraging AI tooling to support activities.
- Identify and communicate issues, dependencies, and solutions to the squad and senior management, ensuring exceptional coordination and prioritisation.
- Assess features for test automation suitability, collaborating with engineers on various test types and contributing to end-to-end automation.
- Collate QA metrics, perform root cause analysis, and advocate for continuous improvement in ways of working, processes, and tooling.
- Proactively support team members through mentoring, coaching, and management to foster their career growth.
- Be a visible guide and role model within the QA team, actively supporting departmental operations and promoting learning and sharing across the QA function.
- Represent Moneybox externally in the tech community, bringing fresh new ideas back to the team.
Who you are
- You’re enthusiastic about working in a fast-growing Fintech and dedicated to making a positive impact on personal wealth, with a deep interest in technology and QA developments.
- You possess an excellent understanding of testing techniques and can effectively coach and mentor your team on their application.
- You’re comfortable in multi-disciplinary teams, working closely with developers, and demonstrate analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- You have demonstrated experience in designing and implementing comprehensive test plans and automation frameworks.
- You possess effective organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a pragmatic approach to bug reporting, understanding risk, impact, and dependencies.
Experience and Skills
- At least 7 years of broad QA experience, with a number of years in a Senior/Lead QA role, including a demonstrated track record of fast-paced delivery.
- Extensive backend system testing skills and understanding of programming languages, and API architectures.
- Deep understanding of Mobile app, web, API, and database testing technologies and frameworks.
- Experience with various automated testing techniques and a solid background in test data design and implementation strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior leadership to build collaborative relationships and foster continuous improvement.
What’s in it for you?
- Opportunity to join a fast-growing, award-winning and super ambitious company
- Work with a friendly team of highly motivated individuals
- Be in an environment where you are listened to and can actually have an impact
- Thriving collaborative and inclusive company culture
- Company pension scheme
