Job Brief
Moneybox has successfully scaled to over 1.5 million customers and over £16bn billion in AUA, demonstrating robust growth and profitability. We are now entering a critical phase focused on enhancing our customer proposition, delivery velocity and operational maturity ahead of future liquidity events.
The Chief of Staff is a pivotal, high-impact role designed to act as an executive multiplier for the COO and Co-Founders. You will support driving the rhythm of the business, translating executive plans into cross-functional execution and serving as a key problem-solver to challenges spanning product, technology, operations and commercial. This is a rare opportunity designed for a future operational leader.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Execution & Planning (The “What”)
- Strategic Prioritisation: Partner directly with the COO and Co-Founders to define, articulate, and cascade the company’s objectives. Ensure alignment of resources with the highest-leverage business goals.
- Goal Governance: Oversee and manage the Executive Team’s operating model. You are accountable for monitoring progress, identifying roadblocks, and ensuring timely, accurate reporting to the Executive Team.
- High-Priority Projects: Understand business-critical problems and work with the COO, Co-Founders and other members of the senior team to recommend and deliver solutions across multiple functional areas.
2. Operational Rhythm & Governance (The “How”)
- Executive Meeting Management: Own the end-to-end cadence and effectiveness of all Executive Team and Leadership meetings (including weekly executive sessions and periodic offsites). This includes setting agendas, facilitating debate on critical issues, capturing decisions, and ensuring robust follow-up and accountability.
- Board Readiness: Support with the preparation, structure, and refinement of Board meeting materials. Implementing the annual cadence of Board governance and operational requirements.
- Cross-Functional Optimisation: Act as a neutral, trusted party to resolve critical bottlenecks between departments (e.g., aligning product and technology resource requirements, reconciling tensions between competing operational and commercial priorities).
3. Executive Enablement & Communication (The “Why”)
- Information Flow: Manage communications from the COO/Co-Founders to the broader organisation, ensuring transparency, clarity, and consistency in messaging.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analytical projects on market trends, competitive intelligence, and financial models to inform executive decision-making.
- Organisation and Culture: Work with the COO, Co-Founders and People Team to ensure resource allocation and application are aligned with strategic priorities, acting as an advocate for organisational health and cross-functional collaboration.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 7-10+ years of professional experience, including significant tenure in a high-intensity, analytical environment such as:
- Top-tier Management Consulting (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG).
- Top-tier Law Firms (Magic or Silver circle)
- Investment Banking, Venture Capital, or Private Equity.
- A prior operational or strategic role within a high-growth regulated technology firm.
- Skills: Exceptional analytical capabilities, attention to detail, financial modeling skills, and a proven ability to synthesise complex, ambiguous data into simple, actionable strategies.
- Execution: A demonstrable track record of driving large, complex projects to completion with senior stakeholders.
- Leadership Qualities: High intellectual curiosity, impeccable judgment, emotional intelligence, and the ability to influence without formal authority. Must be resilient, adaptable, and comfortable with executive-level ambiguity.
